2008 - 2021

Our Simon has departed for the Great Neverending. Because the burden of being on this earth was too great for his small body. Even though he was our little battle tank .. tough ... even those break down. And while we wanted to keep him, we understood that to delay our pain was to prolong his. And we love him too much for that. We accept the pain that came with the privilege of being his keepers. We are proud that he was ours.

So run. Speed over the bridge my love. We’ll see you on the other side and you’ll show us where all the best places to sleep and eat are. We’ll find our sunny spot to rest. You’ll gleefully annoy us, once again, for treats, head rubs and leg space. We’ll harass you for nosees, kisses and touch your pawpaws. And we’ll get those warm and tender hugs that you give.

Our Simon.
The bearer of bad haircuts.
The namesake to countless Wifi spots and passwords.
The teacher of patience.
The endlessly hungry.
The endearing jerk.
My heart.

We love you and we will be with you again. Until then, you sleep well.
