Peanut

2024 - 2024

Peanut was found late in the afternoon on July 23, dirty and full of fleas. He was a little over 3 weeks old at the time.
We had just started fostering Fluffy, who happened to be about the same age, so we took him in as well.
He had a great appetite, especially for wet food. He was growing so fast! What a handsome boy he turned out to be!
He loved to watch birds and squirrels or the leaves falling from the trees. And what energy he had! Always running, jumping, climbing, playing with toy mice or balls, swinging on the curtains, chasing each other with the girls, fighting with Dino, you name it, he did it. If he climbed somewhere and couldn't get down, he would make these long, loud meows until I heard him and came to rescue him ❤️
Unfortunately, I couldn't save him this time. His first seizure was on Friday. It was so random and so fast that we just shrugged it off, thinking he might have hurt himself somehow and just freaked out. But yesterday, Monday, he had another seizure. I knew he was sleeping peacefully at the time, I was in the same room. The next thing I knew, he was having a full-blown seizure. I couldn't help him in any way. All I could do was sit next to him and talk to him quietly, keeping his head from hitting the furniture.
He had had several seizures in the last 24 hours and they were getting more frequent. We were hoping to get him tested and figure out how to help him, but time was against us. With the frequency of his seizures, we realized we had no time. We had no choice, no options. The only option was to let him go, to end his suffering.
Peanut passed away peacefully in my arms. He was a part of our family and we will always remember and love him. ❤️
Rest in peace, my crazy little Peanut 🌈
