Murphy

2011 - 2025

Murphy, “My Little Feller” – he was more than just a dog – he was family, my best friend and a constant presence in my life. A soft-coated Wheaten Terrier with a heart as big as his boundless energy. He filled every day with joy, routine and just the right amount of mischief. From the moment we brought him home, he stood out. The most rambunctious of his brothers and sisters, proudly sporting his blue collar, he made it clear life with him would never be dull. He was always waiting by the door, whether for a familiar face or just to make sure he didn’t miss a moment of the action. Murphy was a creature of habit, a living breathing alarm clock. He never let me forget when it was time for his dinner or mine. And of course, he always got his own little snack whether it was sausages, chicken or anything else he had his eye on. He had a way of working the system too, going outside just because he knew he’d get a treat when he came back in. Walks were his favourite and the occasional dramatic FRAP around the backyard. Squirrels didn’t stand a chance and neither did the unsuspecting dogs walking by – Murphy made sure to let them know who was boss. Some were his friends, others ,,,well, let’s just say he had strong opinions about “Bongo”. At night he never went to bed without his treats, just another small but meaningful part of our routine. He was always there, always watching over the house, always making sure life had just the right amount of chaos and love.
Murphy – my best friend, my little shadow, my unwavering companion. Life feels empty and quieter now without him, but his love and spirit will always be with me. Run free “My Little Feller”. You were so loved.
