Meesha

2020 - 2024

I got her from the Humane Society on Dec 12, 2020. I brought in the ad they posted and asked to see her. “How many cats have you had previously sir” they inquired……”none” I responded…….”Well this isn’t the cat for you then”. “How about we show you another cat that would be more suited for you.” I told them thanks but this is the cat that I want. They went on to explain that “Felicia” (her original name) had been abused by the last home she was at by the father who would kick her around. I think this hardened my resolve to want to bring her home even more. I walked into her pen and sat down on the floor; I dare not even look at her. Well, she bounded down from her perch and laid right down on my lap and started purring while she fell asleep. The ladies came back after a few minutes and were soo surprised to see what was going on. The one lady exclaimed….”Quick get the box and paper work before he changes his mind”!

She had been there a few months since no one wanted her……or is it the other way around. Lots of people that I’ve told this story to have said to me how wonderful it was that I rescued her. But in fact, it was Meesha that rescued me from my loneliness and that I’ll always be soo grateful to her for.

I will miss her quivering tail and multiple head-butts and of course a ballad of meows as I came home. Whether it was just one day that I was away from home, or a 2-week trip; She always made me smile with her excitement to see me. Saturday was set aside for a nap on the couch together. She instantly knew what was going on and would jump up onto my chest and immediately bring on the kisses followed by a good paw-grooming session and then finally some serious napping.

I can’t wait to see you again my Meesha. It's not even been a day and I miss you already. When I do see you again, we will go fly-fishing on a beautiful summer’s day. I’ll take you to some beautiful waterfalls and ocean blue pools filled with trout for you to chase. I hope you’re at peace now and running after an endless ball of wool.

Forever,
Terry Korz
