1997 - 2012

June 15, 1997 – December 4, 2012

AKA: Big Guy, Baby Kitty, Buddy, Dickens, Roo 2

You came into our lives, whether by accident or by design, on the day before Rob’s birthday, Thurs. Oct. 9, 1997. While you were a stray kitten, dropped off in a box along the roadside, there was no chance you were going to be abandoned a second time. Those beautiful, big green eyes, large ears and slightly purple lips melted our hearts instantly! You had finally found your “fur-ever” home. You were a perfect tuxedo-tabby with lovely markings and soft, grey and white fur. For many years, you were a quiet, reserved cat, always there but in the background. After Moby left us, you became a more vocal, alpha cat. You were good company, following us around the house and “chatting” with Rob every day. You were always affectionate, on your terms, preferring to be patted, scratched or combed while sitting on the floor. You had your special perches too, usually sitting between us so you would be the centre of attention! Most special of all were the boxes that we would bring home after shopping at Costco. As soon as a box was emptied, you would claim it to either play peek-a-boo or as a new pet bed. It could be said that you were a cheap date, preferring boxes, newspaper and tissue paper over expensive cat toys. Reading the newspaper just won’t be the same as you are no longer here to play “paper turtle”. We miss you every day in so many ways – you were a constant companion for over 15 years. We know that you and Moby are together again, waiting for Rob and I to join you at the Rainbow Bridge. We love you and will keep your memory alive in our hearts. In the meantime, “hold the fort”.
