Akela

2004 - 2016

Akela (Akayla) means leader of the pack and that she was. Akela was the first to be born in her litter. She was the smallest of them all. Siberian Husky! She was a Very Lovable Girl from the very moment we set eyes on her. She melted our hearts. She loved her cheese and life styles cookies. Akela liked to sing Happy Birthday, You are My Sunshine and Angels Among Us. We had our own little song we sang together from when she was little to get her to howl. "WHO'S THE PRETTY BABY? WHO'S THE PRETTY GIRL? WHO'S THE PRETTY BABY? AKELA! AKELA! " and she would sing along with me and howl at the end. She had her favourite toys Squirrel, Monkey and Bug who would say I love you and Akela had learned to say this as well "I Love You and I don't want to" Akela was a girlie girl and loved her EOS lip care whenever she saw us putting it on. She loved to hide in the garden of hostas where it was always cool on a hot summers day. On cold winter snowy days she would curl into the tightest ball and take a nap. She was Mom's daily companion, barking whenever Sylvia stood still too long. She loved her human pack very much and kept an eye on each one of us. She loved her Jimmy so! Akela used to get howling with Benny the cockatiel who would shriek loud and back and forth they would go louder and louder Oh what Fun! Her registered named is Platts Blazing Akela.
