DELILAH BEILSCHMIDT
OCTOBER 24, 2003 TO MARCH 23, 2016

Delilah was sweet, kind, gentle, loving, intuitive and very trusting. She had many health issues throughout her almost 13 years, and no matter what she had to put up with, she never held a grudge. She and I handled each issue as it presented itself. Unfortunately, the sudden discovery of an unknown spleen tumour on March 22 forced our unexpected goodbye on March 23. To my dismay and shock, Delilah and I were presented with a health issue that together we could not overcome, leaving me devastated and heart broken with the loss of my "canine soulmate". Delilah was the first dog at the Dunnville Vet Clinic to undergo a stem cell transplant for her arthritis. She was always by my side. If I sneezed or coughed, she would immediately get up from wherever she was to make sure I was okay. Her concern for me never wavered. During the night, should my blood sugar suddenly drop, she was relentless with her kisses until I acknowledged her and got a can of pop. I know that I will never again have a "canine blood sugar glucometre" as in tune with me as she always was. Delilah had no Diabetic Alert training. Her instincts and protectiveness came from her heart from the very first moment we met. I truly believe that my "LILAH GIRL" was a gift from God and that I was the luckiest woman alive that she chose me to love. I proudly wear a sterling silver charm made from a picture taken of her front left paw and I plan on wearing this charm for the remainder of my days. My Delilah will forever remain in my heart and around my neck. "LILAH GIRL" I love you and miss you.
