Bentley Braveheart

2008 - 2022

On August 7th, 2008 a beautiful, scruffy white-haired 11-week-old puppy named Bentley Braveheart entered our hearts and our lives. He snuggled against Lisa's shoulder as soon as she first held him, then came me ... and finally our beloved Michelle. One of his very first public outings was a trip to see the President's Choice Superdogs at the Canadian National Exhibition, where he gained quite a lot of loving admirers. We actually named him after one of our favourite Superdogs ... and he was a superdog in EVERY sense of the word. He gained friends and admirers everywhere he went ... and he went MANY places, especially after he was trained as a service dog. His favourite place was to be anywhere we went, whether it was Michelle's annual family reunions at Aylen Lake near Barry's Bay, or monthly Oshawa Accessibility Advisory Committee meetings, or the Oshawa Valley Botanical Gardens, or visiting stepbrother James in the hospital, begging Lisa for wieners or just chilling with me on my bed. We had 14 GLORIOUS years with him. Alas, all good things must come to an end ... and that end came peacefully today here with our vet at home, after a long and courageous battle with bronchopneumonia. Now he has crossed over the Rainbow Bridge to play with Michelle and James until we meet again. Have fun until we meet again, baby boy.
