A Tribute to Apollo

Apollo was born Nov. 2, 1997. I brought him home Dec. 31, 1997. Those of you who know me, know that he had a better life than most. He never went without and he slept on the bed as I slept on the floor. If you laughed at him, you would get the look then he would load himself with his ammunition, water then either shake right next to you or he would slime you with his joules. If you were sitting in his spot on the sofa, (every spot was his), he would lay on top of you until you became so uncomfortable that you would move. If he didn't want to do anything, he wouldn't. He was gentle to all the kids that came in contact with him. He may look like he could be mean, but he was afraid if a leaf flew by the window. For the past few weeks, he has not been well. Mainly because of a drug that was prescribed for him and his arthritis (Rimadyl/Carprofen). He has experienced every side effect, but it was too late. The damage was done. I stopped the drug and you could see him deteriorate.

As of late he has stopped drinking, eating, has the inability to walk, manipulate stairs, seizures and has occasional incontinence. This is no way for a dog to live that was so active and so loved by myself and others. Apollo, I love you and I always will. You will always be my No.1. I love you Booper.

Apollo entered into rest peacefully in my arms at 1643 on Jan. 21, 2009. Apollo, I love you and will miss you forever. Get that big Tim Horton's donut in the sky buddy. You will and can never be replaced by anyone nor any other animal. I miss you already. Your stubby little tail wiggling and shaking your butt everyday as I walked through the door. Now Booper, it's your turn to walk through that door and be at peace. The pain is gone.

Until I see you on the Other Side, I love and will miss you.
