Ursa

2011 - 2025

Ursa, “Teranjo’s Bear with me”, RN, RA, CGC. AKA Ursa-Bear. March 10, 2011 – December 28, 2025.
Ursa crossed over the Rainbow Bridge to Heaven peacefully in our arms at an Emergency Pet hospital in Calgary, AB, after a yearlong struggle with kidney disease, and unbeknownst to us until the ER hospital visit, she also had the beginnings of the very aggressive cancer - Hemangiosarcoma of the spleen. And, from the age of 5 years old, Ursa lived with idiopathic epilepsy, which we together conquered over the years.
Ursa was a special Labrador Retriever; she was very loving and gentle, the epidemy of a true Canine Good Citizen/Neighbor, a title which she earned at a very young age, because she was very smart and easy to train.
Everyone loved Ursa! Our little 5-year-old neighbor girl used to be very scared of big dogs until she met Ursa and was often seen hugging Ursa’s neck.
Ursa was a very quiet girl; she barked 5 times in her whole 14 years and almost 10 months long life. She didn’t have much to say verbally, but she spoke volumes with her soft, kind eyes and her frequent wagging tail.
Ursa was a happy and fun girl; she was an amazing soccer ball player and going to the park to “play ball” was her favorite daily outing. Ursa was also a seasoned camper, loving our many camping trips to the Foothills and Rocky Mountains with us and her past big sister Opal, and until the end of last summer, with her little sister Loua.
We were so blessed to have had Ursa in our lives and we miss and love her beyond words. Our hearts are grieving, but we know our very sick girl couldn’t go on any longer.
Thank you, Ursa, for all your love and laughs and for being the best girl ever for us!!! You are forever in our hearts!!
Gone to the Rainbow Bridge before Ursa and there to greet her are: Casey, Nellie, Kelsey, Dana, Bailey, Heidi, Jamey, Zoda and Opal. Also, forever in our hearts, and until we see and cuddle all of you again!!
Special thanks to Ursa’s longtime veterinarian, Dr. Wanda for guiding her and us through Ursa’s health concerns.
And, special thanks to Gateway Pet Memorial in Calgary, AB, for their heartfelt compassion and care for Ursa and us!
Arin, Lis, and Loua who misses Ursa terribly. XO, XO, XO…
