nikki

2003 - 2020

It is with extremely heavy hearts that we say goodbye to our very first fur-baby, Nikki, our feline best friend who was 17 years old and lived a long, beautiful cat life.

Nikki was a cat with a personality like none other. She was unique and so different than any cat we've known. A queen for sure and the ruler of our home!

Nikki, Snickerdoodle, Picky-Nikki, Nikkalitis, Snicky. You came into our world as a 1 year old kitten, full of energy. You were a gift to mommy and just having you a part of the family helped her overcome her home-sickness that was making her sad. You made our house a home.

We will miss your talkative meowing when you wanted something from us and your little grunts when we talked to you.
We will miss your nose kisses that were given on demand.
We will miss your very loud purring that seemed to never ever stop.
We will miss your easy-going nature and willingness to go wherever we brought you, including moving homes six times and multiple airplane trips to see family and friends. You certainly always knew how to make yourself at home.
We will miss how hilarious it was watching you play with the laser pointer and chasing your Temptations treats.
We will miss how beautiful you looked basking in the sun, even if it was just a sliver of sunshine you could find.
We will miss your love of the Christmas tree skirt and how it became your home for the month of December every year.
We will miss your excitement every time roast chicken was on the menu.
We will miss your insane cat love every time we returned from being away for a few nights.
We will miss your snuggles on the couch and how you curled up so nicely next to the fireplace.
We will miss your fluffy fur and how soft it was…it was everywhere, yet we didn't care.
We will miss your love of mommy's singing, especially when it was Ave Maria or Fix You by Coldplay.
We will miss seeing you in some of your favourite places around the house, stealing heat from heat vents and hanging out on the staircase to greet us.
We will miss you so much because you were a part of our family for so many years.
We hope we gave you the best cat life and are so happy you were able to live a long one. We love you so much and hope you're hanging out with your dog sister in heaven.
