Chase

2005 - 2017

Sadly, We said goodbye to our handsome boy, Asklar's Dogwood Chase, CD, RN, CGN on the afternoon of December 31st, 2017. Chase was predeceased by his father, CAN. CH. Hyspire Asklar Tinkin I Mobetta "Dailen" 2007. Chase's loss has left a huge hole in our hearts. He was there to comfort us with the loss and passing of his brother 3 years ago. Now there's a void which only memories fill. When you go from 2 beds to 1 bed and then to no beds, the pain felt is that much more difficult to deal with. We are still sharing thoughts and actions that each of us still do which now becomes only a tearful memory. I still find myself looking behind before rolling my chair back and now seeing empty floor. Coming home, we still open the door expecting to see his cheerful face, tail wagging and always his 'stuffy' in his mouth. We bought him 3 because he would run around the entire house looking for the one each time one of us came home. We saved him a few steps and maybe some sanity. His oldest (and most favorite) went with him on his final journey. We know he would have wanted that.
We jokingly say how much more our compost bucket has grown or chuckle when a piece of your food hits the floor and you look at it thinking it's going to pick itself up. Didn't know what to do with the pizza crust after fifteen years, though Chase didn't have to share the last three :) Little things that make your eyes glaze now when they happen. Amazing addition to our family. We hope he enjoyed his life with us. Many thanks to Laurie and Larry, Fantastic people, great breeders. Also many thanks to the absolute great staff at Centennial Animal Hospital. When you have staff who literally roll out the carpet (not kidding lol) it simply doesn't get much more royal than that. Awesome people. And you know you're special when you literally get carry-out service, Chase thanks you Pet-Valu.
That was our Chase. At just a year old, he not only attained his Companion Dog (CD) obedience title, he was crowned "High in Trial" which is the highest scoring dog across all classes of obedience on that day.
His remains now sit proudly on our mantle. He will always remain part of our family. If expression were words, we would have loved to hear what he had to say. His soft nature and patience, his best quality. An absolute friend and constant companion. His spirit will live in our hearts forever.
Chase September 18th, 2005 - December 31st, 2017 RIP buddy
